Visit Indonesia 2008

Akhir-akhir ini sering terdengar kampanye Visit Indonesia 2008. Gw tentu senang, ini akan mendatangkan devisa dan memakmurkan negara. Sebagai wujud partisipasi, gw telah menyusun daftar beberapa hal unik yang truly Indonesia:

• Forget Venice, the City of Water. We have Jakarta, the City in Water (only during heavy rainy seasons, don’t miss it). Don’t forget to perform medical check-up after the trip.


• We have busway, high profile project low quality product. It’s less than five years, but the infrastructures are in poor condition. I wish I had one of those big plasmas in my flat before they’re broken.


• Hospitality is so unique that you can’t stay anywhere in the crowd without being greeted by people (OK, beggars. But they are people right?).


• You think Roller Coaster is adrenaline-pumping? Taking bus in major cities in Indonesia is more life-risking (in literal term).

Sorry for being cynical. Sebelum menerima tamu, seharusnya kita merapikan 'rumah' terlebih dahulu. Soal tamunya jadi datang atau ga, itu urusan lain. Kalau 'rumah' rapi dan bersih, yang untung kita juga (sebagai "penghuni rumah").
